We are pleased to announce that Lighthouse Trust has opened a Nevis office to provide trust and company formation services. This represents the fourth country in which Lighthouse maintains offices and personnel and the second country that offers explicit asset protection legislation for entities established within the jurisdiction.
Nevis is a popular choice among lawyers practicing in offshore trust and company planning. In 1996, Nevis codified the Nevis International Exempt Trust Ordinance, modeled after the Cook Islands International Trusts Act, to permit the formation and registration of asset protection trusts. Several years later, Nevis enacted comprehensive LLC legislation replicating in large part the Delaware LLC Act.
We also welcome Telbert Glasgow and his staff to the Lighthouse Trust team. Mr. Glasgow holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics, a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, an Actuarial Sciences degree, and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). In addition to his services as director of Lighthouse Trust Nevis Limited, Mr. Glasgow is the Managing Director of Lighthouse Captive Management Ltd. and is primarily responsible for supervising the captive management staff in Nevis. Mr. Glasgow is a frequent lecturer on mathematical and science subjects for the University of the West Indies, and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Nevis, the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, and the Nevis Electricity Company.
